So you’ve just completed everything you thought there was to do on a planet. You finished your class story line, wrapped up the planets primary story line, and even took on all the side and heroic missions to boot. Just as you’re about to jump ship and head off to the next planet, someone saying there’s a whole other batch of problems here that need fixing confronts you. You my friend have just been offered your first Bonus Series quest. The big question is, are they worth doing? Will the experience and reward gains be greater than if you continue on your merry way to the next star system? We’ll try to answer that for you as we look at some of the pros and cons of SWTOR’s infamous bonus series quests.

Experience

If you’re a diverse player and add a lot of PVP and Space Combat missions into your Old Republic Diet then you definitely don’t need the extra XP boost the dozen or so Bonus Missions will give you. If on the other hand, you are a picky gamer and skip over any quest you deem to be uninteresting to you, you may want to stay planet side and take part in Bonus Series as they will most likely make up for most of what you missed. Of course if you are an XP hoarder and complete everything, chances are by the time you the planet’s Bonus Series is unlocked you will be too high a level to gain any...

The overall trend of the new gear (except for pants) seems to be an increase in stats to the Barrel, Enhancements, and armoring of items while reducing the stats provided by mods. Many of the secondary stats have also been tweaked if not changed altogether. In many cases where War Hero gear provided critical rating it has now been replaced with power, but this varies with class.

The new set bonuses for lvl 55 gear are below. Anything that is not listed has not changed.

Gearing Changes

Marauder/ Sentinel DPS

•Weaponmaster's Gear 2pc: Now in addition to reducing the cooldown of Guarded by the Force or Undying Rage by 15 seconds, also increases its duration by 1 second.

•Weaponmaster's Gear 4pc: Now increases all damage dealt by 10% for 5 seconds after using Force Leap or Force Charge.

Mercenary/ Commando Heals

•Combat Medic's Gear 2pc: Reduces the cooldown of Hold the Line Hydraulic Overrides by 5 seconds.

Operative/ Scoundrel Heals

•Field Medic's Gear 2pc: Increases the damage absorbed by Defense Screen by 10%.

Sorcerer/ Sage Heals

•Force-Mystic's Gear 2pc: Reduces Force Armor or Static Barrier lockout debuff duration by 3 seconds.

One of the items on the top of the list of new things coming to the Old Republic in patch 2.0 is Legacy Achievements. If you’ve played any game made in the last five years you’re probably already familiar with achievements and the completionist addiction they can bring out in people. Below we go over how the whole system will work and what kind of achievements we can expect to be collecting.

You’ll find the interface for Legacy Achievements conveniently tucked into your legacy panel just underneath the reputation tab. There you can keep track of your achievement progress in the seven major categories currently available.

They are:

·      Companions – Each companion has three achievements to unlock for reaching certain amounts of affection with them.

·      Flashpoints – Achievements for completing Flashpoints in various difficulties and for defeating individual bosses.

For anyone even somewhat familiar with MMO’s you’ve probably run across some form of reputation system in your travels. With patch 1.7 the Old Republic now joins those ranks with its introduction of the Galactic Reputation System. Player can now “rank up” their standing with certain factions in the game and gain access to valuable loot and titles that will unlock as you go. Below we take a look at the Galactic Reputation System and shed some light on how it all works.

Interface

You’ll find the new interface for Galactic Reputation located in your legacy panel just below the character perks tab. There you can keep track of all the progress you have made with each factions reputation and how much you have left before hitting the weekly cap.
