Patch 1.1.0b: Ability Delay

As part of todays regularily scheduled maintenance Bioware has loaded up patch 1.1.0b. Included in the update are fixes to Karagga's Palace, fleet performance optimizations, and the biggie ability delay.

The ability delay issue has been around for a while, and has recieved it's share of flack on the official forums prompting this response from Lead Combat Designer, George Zoeller. It's most notable (and Frustrating) in the fast paced world of PVP where timing your abilities and attacks is often the difference between the ganker and the ganked.

1.1.0b Patch Notes - 1/24/2012

 

General

  • Implemented optimizations to improve performance on Republic and Imperial Fleets.

 

Classes and Combat

  • Significantly improved the delay when activating player abilities, particularly when in lower framerate situations. This allows for improved ability responsiveness in hectic combat situations.

 

Operations

 

General

  • Operations will no longer allow more than 16 Operations Group members to enter concurrently.

 

Karagga's Palace

  • G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator will no longer respawn more than once if players have not defeated Karagga.
  • Fixed an exploit that would allow players to repeatedly loot the chest after defeating Jarg and Sorno.

 

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause graphical inconsistencies, which most often manifested as random screen "flickering."

I would love for ability
I would love for ability delays to be a thing of the past. Having to time them wouldn't be so bad if we actually knew what the delay would be. The unpredictability of where and when it would strike made it so much more frustrating.

ya the lag in PvP is very disheartening. I'm looking forward to this being fixed.
